Welcome to our Shorinkan Dojo, French Valley. We offer a spacious training environment complete with high quality floor, wave kick bags, sparring gear and an assortment of Okinawan Kobudo Weapons to train with. We are a traditional dojo, focused on preserving the Ryu, it's honor, the sense humility and respect for not only each other and our community but for the Do and the Ryu. We aspire to maintain our place of honor within the Shorinkan System. We invite you to visit us and experience our traditional setting and practice of instruction. |

Shorinkan e Mensore! French Valley Dai-Sempai with 4th Dan, Yon Dan Sensei Bill (center). Sensei is a common expression for a person who instructs, but on the floor with a Sensei of higher rank in our home dojo, Black Belts are formally known as Dai-Sempai.

French Valley Karateka take the floor with Kyoshi 8th Dan Nana Dan Nabil Noujaim for Jion kata at Black Belt Night in El Centro. French Valley Dojo is a dojo committed to preserving the traditions of the old ways, dedicated to preserving the honor of Shorinkan as it is passed down to us by our Kyoshi. Black Belt Night is mandatory for all 1st, 2nd, 3rd Kyu and Dan ranked students and occurs the last Friday of each month.

Kobudo is an important part of our training. It is not mandatory, but highly encouraged.

We instruct children of all ages and skill levels and have specialized classes for upper Kyu students to begin to prepare them for the rigors of a Shodan test.
